This one wasn't photographed today, it was many moons ago. It is time to use it. It's not raining too much, but, overcast and gloomy.

Raven at Cyril Hart Arboretum

Not a bad picture, slightly out of focus, but I thought that you would like it as a member of Crows.

A Bug on my window

This one was found on a double glazed window, that's why it looks like 4 images. It not a brilliant photo, but it was the weathers fault. Ha ha ha.

A Misty morning in Foxes Bridge Colliery

Not so bad. The cold and foggy start to a most brilliant sunshine. I saw plenty of Fallow Deers, but I didn't manage to photograph them. Still, I will keep on.

A Tree Stump at Nagshead nature reserve

It was a quiet day, nothing very new. In fact, I had to photograph the nearest to me. I was in the Campbell hide, and for 2 hours, I didn't see anything. I mean just that.

Pheasant being fattened for Christmas

They are only kept for shooting them. It is funny, how they are born, about 8 months later, then put out to be shot. That's funny, imagine it could be a human, living till 16 years and being bred for that purpose, ha ha. Oh, ask the suicide bombers?

Carrion Crow at Lydney recreation grounds

Wow, its another one. This is a war victim, and has lost his right eye. It might have been in a fight perhaps, with a Buzzard, and they always try to mob them.
By the way, the Mute Swan cygnet, the one that I was talking about, has finally joined its parents. I am glad.

Jay at Cannop Ponds

The poor Jay, he was born with this illness, all his neck feathers were gone and the beak was crossed. It didn't look like it would last much time.

Brown Hawker at the Marshes, Lydney

Another sunny day. The Brown Hawker passed my thoughts as I was waiting for a Buzzard. I caught that Buzzard a little bit later, it was being mobbed by a Carrion Crow.

Bracket Fungi at Foxes Bridge

I had a pucture about a mile away from anybody, tough going, I can tell you. One of the Trampers worst parts. I finally had to pump up the tyre every 500 meters. It may have looked at it as a scaring point, but, I don't think so.

Pied Wagtail at Lydney recreaion grounds

A beautiful day, but, there wasn't anything worth talking about. So, I'll stay dumb.

Carrion Crow at the Marshes, Lydney

Here is the Carrion Crow with the sunlight against him or her. It is wonderful to see that the sun is finally here.

Thursday 11 September 2008

False Chanterelle at Foxes Bridge Colliery

It's that time of year when the fungi come into our lives. There are good mushrooms and of course, the bad ones. This is a bad one. I'm not very good at telling them apart, so if I get it wrong, please tell me.

Tuesday 9 September 2008

The Acorn at Russell's Inclosure, near to Cannop Ponds

The Acorn is from the Oak, when it is brown, it is ready to drop off its branch, and it become a seed. If it doesn't get far, a squirrel will soon eat it, another way to germinate.

Lesser Black-backed Gull at Lydney boating lake

What a day, first it was nice, then on the stroke of midday, it began to rain. And it got heavier as it grew darker. Still, it's better than in Cuba and New Orleans. Cor...........
